Kate planned a gorgeous outdoor wedding in Zion Grove, Pennsylvania. It was a beautiful sunny day, and they had the perfect venue - her family's front yard! Kate and Nate were wed in a place that held many wonderful memories, and with delightful personal touches the day was a beautiful expression of their joy and love.
As their wedding begun, I realized that I didn't see a photographer, even from my point of view (standing in the back) Realizing that there could very well be a photographer who was simply being very discreet, I decided to shoot some…but keeping a look out so that I could be sure to stay out of the way of the photographer, if he/she started moving around.
As a photographer, I constantly go back and forth on what to do when I am a guest at a wedding. To bring the camera or not to bring the camera - that is the question! The choice I made for Kate & Nate's wedding was to bring it, and I'm so glad I did! As it turns out, there was a bit of a mix up, and while there was a photographer for formal shots after the ceremony, there was no coverage of the actual ceremony! Never in my life have I been so happy to have brought a camera.
The ring bearers carried little swords - it was adorable!
Kate was glowing as she and her dad prepared to walk down the aisle...
...and her groom had eyes for her alone. :)
During the wedding, some guys on four-wheelers came up on the road behind the wedding. I don't think they realized they were crashing a wedding until they were too close to do anything about it! Kate and Nate just laughed and rolled with it.
When you don't have a ladder, and do have creative groomsmen. :)
